MIST 595 Multimedia for Instruction I
Narrative:
Multimedia for Instruction I is designed, through hands-on experience, and it provided me with an introduction to the computer applications and design techniques necessary to produce a simple Website.
Outcomes:
Now I am able to do the following:
- Work with Photoshop’s toolbox, options bar, and palettes
- Understand resolution
- Retouch and blend images
- Manage layers
- Add a border and text to an image
- Save an image for Web and print media
- Design a simple Web site
- Work with tables
- Insert graphics
- Insert links
- Upload a completed site to a Web server

Narratives:
This course helped me understand much about layers, Cascading Style Sheets, and using a template for layout and styling of a Web site in Dreamweaver. It also introduced the use of behaviors and inserting multimedia components responsibly.
Outcomes:
Now I am able to do the following:
- Use layers to control the visual layout of a Web page
- Add Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for design and control
- Create dynamic effect using CSS
- Create and apply show-hide layer behaviors
- Create and work with templates
- Integrate audio and/or video clips into a Web page
- Integrate a Flash (.swf) element into a Web page
